Residents Report Feeling Strong Tremors
A light 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck in Southern California on Monday afternoon, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake occurred at 5:23 PM PDT, and its epicenter was located 11 kilometers west-northwest of Malibu, California.
Residents in the Los Angeles area reported feeling strong tremors, with some describing shaking that lasted for several seconds. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The earthquake is the latest in a series of tremors that have shaken Southern California in recent weeks. On August 12, a 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck near Malibu, and a 3.5-magnitude earthquake occurred in the same area on August 14.
Geologists are monitoring the situation and are urging residents to be prepared for additional earthquakes.
