Warriors' Draymond Green Expects Team to Make a Trade Before Deadline
Golden State Looking to Bolster Roster for Playoff Push
Lakers and Warriors May Be Exploring Trade Options
Warriors forward Draymond Green has expressed his belief that the team will make a trade before the NBA trade deadline on February 9.
Speaking to reporters after the Warriors' victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday, Green said, "I can't imagine a scenario where we don't at least put something out there." He added, "We're in a position where we need to make a move. We have a lot of good players, but we need to find the right fit."
The Warriors have been linked to a number of potential trade targets, including Lakers forward Jarred Vanderbilt and Hawks forward John Collins. Vanderbilt is a versatile defender who could provide a boost to the Warriors' frontcourt, while Collins is a high-scoring forward who could help spread the floor for Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
The Lakers, who have struggled this season, could be looking to trade Reaves and/or Hachimura in order to acquire Thompson from the Warriors. Thompson, a three-time NBA champion, is one of the best shooters in the league and would be a major addition to the Lakers' roster.
However, the Warriors are reportedly reluctant to trade Thompson, who is still a key part of their rotation. It remains to be seen whether the two teams can come to an agreement on a deal that will benefit both sides.
The NBA trade deadline is less than a week away, and the Warriors are expected to be one of the most active teams in the market. Green's comments suggest that the team is looking to make a significant move to improve its chances of winning another NBA championship.
